What Makes a Business "Boom" in 2026? Marketing Trends for Jordan

TL;DR: "What business will boom in 2026" is usually asked as an industry-picking question, but the more useful version of it is about marketing behavior, not sector. Five trends are shaping which Jordan-based businesses actually grow this year: AI search reshaping how people find businesses, rising paid social costs, first-party tracking becoming non-negotiable, local intent capture growing, and fractional marketing leadership filling a gap most SMEs can't otherwise afford to fill.

None of these are hype trends. They're patterns I'm seeing directly across client accounts in Amman and the wider GCC this year, with a plain explanation of what to actually do about each one.

Key takeaways

The trend question, answered honestly

People searching "what business will boom in 2026" are usually hoping for an industry tip, a product category about to take off. I can't hand you that with any honesty, and neither can anyone else without pretending to know more than they do. What I can point to, from actual client work, is which marketing behaviors are separating businesses that grow this year from businesses that stall, regardless of what they sell.

That's a less exciting answer than naming a hot industry, but it's the honest one. A restaurant and a software company in Amman can both be having a strong year for the same underlying reason: someone on their team is paying close attention to where leads actually come from and adjusting accordingly, rather than repeating whatever worked last year out of habit.

Trend 1: AI search is changing how Jordanian consumers find businesses

AI Overviews and conversational search tools are increasingly answering questions before a user ever clicks through to a website. Businesses that have adapted their content for this, through GEO and AI SEO, are starting to show up in these answers while competitors relying purely on old-style keyword content get left out entirely. I go deeper on whether this replaces traditional SEO in is SEO dead now that we have AI search.

The practical shift for a Jordan-based business is subtle but real: a question like "which agency handles Google Ads in Amman" might now get answered directly inside an AI summary, pulling from whichever sites have structured, direct-answer content on that exact topic. Businesses still writing purely promotional copy, without ever directly answering the questions people are asking, are the ones most likely to be left out of that summary entirely.

Trend 2: paid social costs are rising, so creative testing matters more

Costs across Meta and Instagram have been climbing as more advertisers compete for the same audiences. That's pushed creative quality and testing volume up in importance relative to raw budget: two businesses spending the same amount on Meta Ads or Instagram marketing can get very different results depending on how many creative variations they're actually testing against each other.

This changes how a paid social budget should actually be allocated. Rather than running one polished ad set for weeks, businesses that are still growing tend to set aside a portion of budget purely for testing new angles, formats and hooks, treating each week as a chance to learn something rather than assuming the first creative will keep performing indefinitely as costs rise around it.

Trend 3: first-party data and conversion tracking are non-negotiable

As tracking across platforms gets harder due to privacy changes and cookie restrictions, businesses with a clean, first-party data foundation, meaning a properly configured GA4 and conversion tracking setup, are the ones still able to optimize campaigns with confidence. Businesses without this are increasingly flying blind, even if they don't realize it yet.

Not sure if your tracking still holds up under this year's privacy changes? I can audit it.

Trend 4: local intent and Google Business Profile are growing in Amman

More search behavior in Amman is shifting toward local, map-based results, especially for service businesses. Local SEO and Local Services Ads are capturing a growing share of this intent, and businesses that haven't invested in their Google Business Profile are increasingly invisible for the exact searches most likely to convert.

This trend matters more here than in a larger market, since a business competing nationally for a broad keyword is fighting a much bigger field than one competing for local map-pack visibility in a specific Amman neighborhood. Reviews, accurate business hours, and regularly updated photos on a Google Business Profile now carry real weight in that local ranking, not just a nice-to-have finishing touch.

Trend 5: fractional and outsourced marketing leadership for SMEs

Demand for fractional CMO work and outside consulting has grown noticeably as SMEs try to coordinate SEO, paid media and content without hiring a full in-house senior team. This fills a real gap: strategic oversight across channels, at a cost that fits a small business, rather than either doing without or overpaying for a full-time executive hire.

Part of what's driving this is simply how many channels now need to work together correctly, SEO, GEO, paid search, paid social and analytics all touching the same funnel. Coordinating that mix well is close to a full-time job in itself, which is exactly the gap fractional and consulting arrangements are built to fill without the overhead of a permanent hire before a business is ready to justify one.

Five trends at a glance

Trend What to do about it
AI search reshaping discovery Add GEO alongside existing SEO content
Rising paid social costs Increase creative testing volume, not just budget
Harder cross-platform tracking Audit and strengthen first-party conversion tracking
Growing local search intent Invest in Google Business Profile and local SEO
SME strategic gaps Consider fractional or consulting support before a full hire
